Review | Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Palette 1

Welcome back to my blog lovelies.

So recently I spotted Makeup Revoulation and IHeartMakeup in Bergins Pharmacy in Newbridge, Co.Kildare and I couldn't help myself and I pick up a few bits. The one palette I was really after was the Makeup Revoulation Iconic Pro Palette 1 as I seen Casey Holmes compare it to the Lorac Pro Palette in one of her dupe videos, and when I seen that it was pretty much the exact same I needed to get it because we cant get Lorac makeup in Ireland (as far as I know)

Look at the colours in this !!!! They are so pretty and there's so much to choose from as there are 8 matte shades and 8 shimmer shades. You could use this palette to achieve a soft everyday daytime look but then you can achieve a dramatic dark smoky eye with this too which Is everything I want in a palette!
Just from looking at the palette it looks very pigmented and I think I would get so much use out of it.
One thing I love about this palette is that the eyeshadows are a good size and has a mirror which is so handy when travelling.
This palette also comes with a Makeup Revolution double ended brush, it has a flat brush on one end and a blending brush on the other end. I'm pretty sure this is the first affordable palette I have seen that doesn't have them pointless sponge applicators in it.

Moving onto the eye shadows in this palette now

Top row

The top row in this palette have 8 matte shades. Ranging from light to dark colours.
Starting from the left to the right are the names of the matte shades
Ghost, Luna, Must, Enigma, Fade, Drama, Afflicted, Pitch.

First impression of the matte shadows are that each of the colours are stunning and there are a nice variety of shades, some pretty crease colours, dark colours to achieve a dark eye and light colours.
When I first swatched these matte shades, I was not impressed with the light colours at all! They lack serious pigmentation, the swatches of the lights colours on my arm are done 3 times and as you can see for yourself that they aren't pigmented.
I was however very impressed with the darker shades in the palette they are very pigmented, creamy and soft. The swatches on my arm of the darker shades are just one swatch of each and you can see the difference with the darker shades!

Most matte shadows that are so inexpensive are choppy and patchy and hard to work with but I was impressed that these shadows weren't.
As the light shades weren't that pigmented when swatched, you have to build up the colour and apply more for it to be noticeable, but I did find that using your finger to apply any of the lighter colours on the lid worked much better and had more pigmented than when applied with a brush!

Bottom row

The bottom row in this palette have 8 shimmer shades.
Starting from the left to the right are the names of the shimmer shade
Need, Dawn, Getter, Breathe, Too Grey, Stage, Addicted, Player.

First impressions are the shimmer shade are just perfection!! from just swatching the dark ones I fell in love with them! I knew I was going to like this palette.
I was not very impressed with the lighter shimmer shades I felt as though they were lacking pigmentation (same as the matte shades) but that didn't bother me much because I'm not a person that person that likes a light shimmery shades, I only have one or two that I genuinely love, but if your a person who only loves light shimmery shades then you would be quiet disappointed with them.
When I swatched the dark shimmer shades I was shocked with how pigmented and creamy they were, The swatches on my arm are just 1 swatch of each! Look at how amazing they are!!! as I said already I fell completely in love with them straight away.

Because the light shimmer shades aren't overly pigmented I find they work great for the brow bone they add the right amount of colour and shimmer to it without looking to crazy.
All the shimmer colours are true to colour and pigment when applied to the lid which I was afraid they wouldn't because of how crazy pigmented they were when I swatched them with my finger I didn't think a makeup brush would pick them up very well considering the lighter matte colours didn't work well with a makeup brush at all but thankfully they didn't disappoint.
My favourite colour in the whole palette is Stage which is the shimmery orangery colour, it just so pretty and perfect for autumn.

Overall I was pretty impressed with this palette and I do really like it. I get a lot of use out of it! I reach for it nearly every time I do my makeup, considering it was only €10 I was not expecting it to be amazing but I was impressed with how much I did like it and for the price you really cannot go wrong. If you want a palette to use for mostly everyday that will help you achieve a daytime and dark dramatic eye I would recommend purchasing this palette. I purchased this palette from Bergin's Pharmacy in Newbridge and they have a great Makeup Revolution Stand! If your ever in the Newbridge area its definitely worth going to have a little look at, They also stock other makeup brands such as IHeartMakeup, Rimmel, and SoSu products and the staff are also so lovely!

Thanks so much reading
