Nivea Men, post shave balm

Welcome back to my blog.

I've seen everyone raving about the Nivea Men, Post Shave Balm lately so thought id a do a little post on it for anyone wondering if it does work as a primer. I've been using it for months now, I first seen NikkieTutorials on YouTube use it as a primer, and she swears by it so I had try it for myself because I really needed a good primer to make my makeup go on nicely and last all day. My dad already had it so I borrowed his, (which he never got back ha ha).

Here's a few facts about it
  • It works so well as primer, because of the high amount of glycerine in it which helps to make your make up to stick
  • It's alcohol and paraben free
  • It contains cBisabolol, vitamin E and chamomile, and Provitamin B5 which are calming, moisturising and soothing on the skin and does not cause irritation.
So I've been using this as a primer for about 5 months now and I absolutely love it! It works amazingly as a primer because it provides such a tacky finish to the skin that it helps your make up stick better to the skin and also helps your make up last much longer too. I use it every time I wear makeup and I have to say it does make such a difference. I noticed my make up looks so good and lasts pretty much all day and before I start using this, I struggled to keep my makeup in place throughout the day and now it stays put all thanks to this Nivea post shave balm!! Iv only used the sensitive post shave balm, there are a few different ones (original and cool kick) so I don't no if they all work exactly the same, but I would recommend the sensitive one because us girls put our skin through so much that it would benefit us so much more. So if any of you girls are on the hunt for good primer, go get this and try it out before paying so much money for a high end one that probably isn't even going to be half as good as this. I promise you will not regret buying it..
It can be found in pretty much every chemist/pharmacy, anywhere that stocks Nivea products. It's €6.79 in boots.

I hope this helped all you girls wondering whether to try it or not :)
Thanks so much for reading

BROWS

- So most people normally start with their foundation, but I'm odd and  I like to start with my eyebrows. I like to carve out my brows by concealing all around them, making them look kind of HD.
  1. Fill in my brows with my Sleek eye-brow palette, in dark brown
  2. Carve all around them using Rimmel lasting finish concealer to make sure their the way I like them.
  3. Apply Rimmel brow this way gel to set the hairs in place.

EYES

- I then move on to the eyes, I use cellotape on the outer corner to get a sharp crisp line. I do my eyes before my foundation so if I do have any fall out I wont ruin my face make up.
  1. I apply L'Oreal colour riche eye primer on the lid first and blended it out.
  2. I used Nyc smooth skin bronzer as my transition shade.
  3. Put Inglot eye shadow in shade 329 into the crease and blended out.
  4. Then I add a little of the Nyc smooth skin bronzer again and apply just above the crease.
  5. Applied 'whiskey' in the Naked smoky palette to the outer corner.
  6. Then used 'dirtysweet' in the Naked smoky palette in the inner to middle part of the eye along with a little 'high' from the smoky palette also on top of dirtysweet.
  7. I highlighted the brow bone and inner corner of the eye with Mac's soft and gentle.
  8. Then did a winged liner with Nyc liquid eyeliner.
  9. Move down the lower lash line and applied Inglot eye shadow in shade 329 on the outer part and then a little Nyc smooth skin bronzer.
  10. I then put Rimmel soft kohl eyeliner in the waterline.
  11. Then added Penny's double trouble eyelashes with duo glue.
  12. Lastly applied L'Oreal volume million lashes to the top and bottom lashes

FACE

- I move onto the face before I do my lower lash line, because I cover up any dark circles and conceal my under eyes which then is easier to do first, so I wont interrupt the eye shadow on the lower lash line if I was to do that first.
  1. I use Nivea men post balm shave as my primer first.
  2. Then mix Mac's pro long wear foundation in the shade NC30 with Nyx's stay matte but not flat foundation in soft beige with a little of Sleek's barekissed illuminator in Monaco.
  3. I move on to highlighting my face with Nyx HD photogenic concealer in CW2. I apply it under my eyes, middle of my forehead, down the bridge of my nose, cupids bow and a little on my chin.
  4. I set all that concealer with Essences all about matte powder.
  5. Powder the rest of my face using Benefits hello flawless powder.
  6. I then contour the hollows in my cheeks , nose and a little on my forehead with Nyc smooth skin bronzer.
  7. Then bronze up the face with Mac's global glow.
  8. I apply Nyx powder blush in angel on the apples of my cheeks.
  9. Lastly I highlight my cheeks bones, down my nose, cupids bow and a my chin with The Balm Mary lou manizer
  10. I set all of that with Urban Decays all nighter setting spray.

LIPS

- lastly are the lips, normally I wont do my lipstick until 5 minutes before I leave because I don't like doing it when my make ups finished and have it nearly gone off by the time I leave and I prefer fresh make up so I don't go over it only when I'm out. I nearly always do a ombre type of lip on a night out.
  1. Line my lips with Mac's whirl lip liner.
  2. Then I apply Mac's velvet teddy on the outer sides of my lips, top and bottom.
  3. And lastly I put a little of Essences lipstick in porcelain in the middle of my lips and blend into velvet teddy.

FINISHED LOOK

Review - NYX Foundation & Concealer

Hi everyone, Welcome back to my blog!

My all time favourite foundation and concealer hands down has to be NYX stay matte but not flat foundation and NYX HD photogenic concealer. I've been using these both for the longest time and I swear by them!!! About a year ago I searched high and low for these products because I heard quiet a bit about them and I needed to try them out for myself and I found a stand in Mangans Pharmacy in Newbridge, I picked up a few bits and these products were by far my absolute favourites.

  • NYX stay matte but not flat foundation

The benefits of this foundation
- Its oil free
- Water based
- Full coverage
- Mineral enriched
- Matte finish

This is hands down my favourite foundation. When it comes to foundation I am the fussiest person ever!!!! I've used so many different foundations over the years and none compare to this one. I use this foundation on a daily basis because it is so lightweight on the skin, It's full coverage and it doesn't feel like you have a lot of make up on which is the best feeling!! Although this foundation is meant to be matte, when I blend it out with a beauty blender it does have a dewy finish but nothing a powder cant fix! I personally like the benefit hello flawless powder on top of this foundation, they both work wonders for me. A little really goes a long way with this foundation, and it lasts on my skin all day! I would totally recommend this foundation to anyone who is looking for a full coverage foundation and doesn't want to break the bank, It's €9.99 in most pharmacy's such as Hickey's Pharmacy, Sam McCauley's Chemist.

  • NYX HD Photogenic concealer wand

This is my all time favourite concealer along with mac prolong wear. I like to use shade 01 porcelain because I like to be really highlighted. It has such an amazing coverage for such a cheap price. I personally don't like my concealer to be to heavy because to me my face feels way to cakey if I do use a heavy concealer, and why I love the NYX HD concealer so much is because its so lightweight and smooth's out so well. I use it to conceal dark circles and highlight underneath my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, middle of my chin and forehead. I would definitely recommend this concealer to absolutely everyone, one of the best concealers out there at the minute. I'm not 100% on the price but I do know it is less than €10 so it is cheap, and can found in the pharmacy's I named above.

Thanks so much for reading :)
Hope this helps out anyone who wants to try these products!
